Were his intentions to hurt me?

This Jerk sounds like a control freak, if you ever meet a guy like this again run for the hills. He was older than you and i guess he should of known better and that its illegal and if hes over 16/18 in the uk 17 /21 in the usa, he could go to jail, and still go to jail if you want to prosecute. It isn't stupid to worry about. Maybe you could talk to someone, but if you don't feel like doing that try and get it of your mind. you shouldn't let that jerk control the rest of your life. ^_^
